Chiara Zonca

Chiara Zonca (b. 1982. Italian, Canadian) is a photographic artist living in British Columbia, Canada. Deeply rooted in the natural world, her practice, balanced between the real and the unreal, delves into the intricate human connections and bonds to nature.

Always attempting to capture a feeling, Chiara’s work explores subjects and places with an emotional approach through the use of large scale color photographs.

A 2020 Hasselblad Heroine, her work has been exhibited internationally at Month of Photography Los Angeles, Photo Schweiz in Zurich and the ADI Design Museum in Milan. Her work is in public and private collections across the US, Canada and Europe including the Shard Place Art Collection in London and the Ritz Carlton residences in Toronto. She has been printed on a variety of publications including The New York Times, Harper’s Bazaar UK and Japan, Photo London, The Earth Issue, Satori Mag, Jungle Magazine and NOICE amongst others.

In 2019 she released her first monograph, Desert Portraits, by Scandinavian Publisher The New Heroes & Pioneers which is now part of the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles, Yale University and Cleveland Museum of Art library collections. Her second monograph, Saved by a deer, produced by Lebled Soloviev Editions was released in July 2025.
