Prairie’s residency program welcomes regional, national, and international artists and creatives to apply for the 2026 session. Situated on one acre of land, Prairie occupies a historic 1870 country home surrounded by mature walnut and oak trees. The setting offers a quiet, reflective atmosphere that supports sustained concentration and meaningful creative development, while remaining conveniently located just 20 minutes outside of Winston-Salem.
The residency is designed to facilitate a renewed engagement with nature, one’s environment, and one’s own creative process. This intentional environment encourages focus, restoration, and clarity, enabling residents to pursue their artistic work with purpose and minimal distraction. The program is self-directed, yet fosters a sense of community, with up to three residents living and working in the home simultaneously.
LENGTH
The length of each residency is 1-4 weeks.
